Local Coffee

Nov 22, 2018

When my family moved to Los Angeles a couple of years ago, I had always wanted to treat myself to that great distinct artisanal coffee. I couldn’t figure out where to go. I wanted to find local coffee but without it it taking too much effort from me. I just felt that I hadn’t gotten the time to crawl around Los Angeles to look for the best local coffee in between running my business here and overseas. I learned about Rokah Coffee Club. I found out that they explore Los Angeles’ coffee scene to find the best local coffee. The long wait in finding the best local coffee was over for me. I signed up and I was even more ecstatic when I found out that they choose their favorite coffee each month and have it delivered to your doorstep. They carefully pack the locally roasted coffee in a personalized box and ship it to your doorstep the first of each month. The box contains 12 ounces of a specialty coffee bean from a premier coffee shop of their choice, which is equivalent to 30 cups of coffee, a back story of the coffee shop, and they also include a surprise or two inside the box every month. Their local coffee is fresh and on top quality.

One of the most fantastic things I have discovered is that Rokah Coffee Club actually went beyond the extra mile to taste coffee in each shop in Santa Monica to find the best local coffee Los Angeles has to offer. You must know that there are more than 50 specialty coffee shops in Santa Monica alone. Of course, Starbucks is not included. They were able to rate the top 5 local coffee in Santa Monica and here they are; Funnel Mill Rare Coffee and Tea, 10 Speed Coffee, Demitasse, GoodBoyBob coffee, and Caffe Luxxe. These are curated and proven to have the best local coffee ever present in Los Angeles.

I mentioned that they feature a coffee shop of the month each month and one of them is Alana’s Coffee Roasters. Everything about Alana’s is local. They have a local on-site roaster, Chemex designer, and a green tea vendor. They are located outside of Culver City in Mar Vista. Everything they have there, they make it fresh and all from scratch. For the month of November, they have The Boy & The Bear. This specialty coffee shop exclusively roasts Colombian beans. The owner gets the coffee beans directly from friends in Colombia. They have a store in Redondo Beach which they call The Black Store and one is in Culver City which is known as The Grey Store. Their stores are inspired by Swedish Design Concepts which looks more Nordic. I learned all about this through Rokah Coffee Club. I was able to find that distinct artisan taste that I have been looking for. Now I get to enjoy waking up in the morning knowing that I’ll have the best local coffee there is in all of Los Angeles.
